During the discovery phase, we’ll work out what success means for the launch of your new website, establishing which KPIs need to be hit in order to achieve the overall business goals. We also study the target audience of the site in detail, establish what the current demographic looks like and work out if there are opportunities to target new groups of customers.
Next, we look at how we can make the customer journey as seamless as possible. Our team will consider how to communicate value-added propositions throughout the journey, as users may enter the site at different points. Wireframes are a quick and effective way to establish the core structure of a website. They ensure the content and functionality of each page are positioned correctly based on the needs of both the users and the business. We present these as low-fidelity mockups consisting of boxes and text, allowing everyone involved to focus on the importance of the content rather than superficial elements like colours, images and fonts.
The high-fidelity artwork phase is where the design begins to come to life. With the wireframes finalised, we build on these foundations by introducing fonts, colours, layouts, image styles and any secondary branding elements to pull through the brand’s personality. We output this as an interactive prototype, giving you a feel for exactly how the final website will look across both mobile and desktop. This acts as a source of truth for the developer to build towards, covering all of the visual design details that will appear in the finished product.
As the website takes shape, we follow Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) best practices to create a seamless shopping experience for customers. Once the site is live, our work doesn’t stop: we’ll continue testing it with real users to refine and enhance elements that improve the journey or fix any pain points that customers may be having.
